3 New Venues for Entrepreneurs and Freelancers – Enterprise & Freelance Fair

Great news – we are currently planning our events for the Autumn and we’ve got some exciting new locations coming up.

Our provisional next dates are:

  • 14th Oct – Wirral / Liverpool – Egerton House
  • 9th Nov – Manchester, UMIC – University of Manchester’s Innovation Centre
  • 19th Nov – Cheshire – Daresbury Innovation Campus

We’ve chosen these locations as they maximise the exposure of the event to local entrepreneurial and growth businesses – being located in or around incubators and natural locations for start-up growth businesses.

The Manchester location will also allow us to draw on the key Manchester agencies, whilst the Wirral / Liverpool location is a natural home to many creative and digital/ media businesses too.

Lastly, Daresbury is well known throughout Cheshire, exceptionally well connected via the motorway and again, right next to a large incubator unit of new businesses.

In all cases, the rooms are larger to taller (or both) than before which will help manage the noise levels, and we’ll be adding a workshop for freelancers on how to win more business prior to the main ‘pitch for work’ event.

We’ve also taken on board the comments around a slightly more structured approach to one-to-one meetings and we’ll run a clockwise rotation of freelancers around the recruiting entrepreneurs and business leaders.

We’ll be confirming these dates shortly and then opening up the registration process. As before, we do need to restrict numbers to ensure the quality of the event, so, please stay tuned (and sign up to the newsletter if you haven’t already…).

Hi my name is Graham I’m from the Wirral. I’m looking to become a freelance drama worker but also offer confidence coaching aswel. I’m also a qualified self-defence instructor and I’ve been told that I could possibly make a living as a freelancer. I have been working as a Drama Worker and theatre developer for the past year and all different projects in schools and community centres but also acting classes for theatre shows and cultural exchange chaperone. Do you think in the current economical climate I should still pursure this career? And do you think that there is work available in these fields? Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards.

I guess it depends on the alternatives Graham?

Equally, if you really want to succeed then most probably you will, despite the economics.
