£5m of business in 2011 for freelancers and entrepreneurs – an interview with Neil Lewis

Founder Neil Lewis talks about his plans for 2011 and reveals more about what you can expect at the forthcoming Enterprise Freelance Fair events…

Q. What are your plans for 2011?

Last Autumn we delivered 3 events in the north west which generated an estimated £1.5m worth of business. For 2011 we aim to deliver events in Liverpool, Manchester and Cheshire that will stimulate £5m worth of business.

Later in 2011 we aim to take these events outside of the North West for the first time.

Q. What makes the Brookson Enterprise Freelance Fair different?

Outcomes! We are focused on delivering high quality leads that convert into real business opportunities for both freelancers and entrepreneurs. Our workshop programme is designed to work with our unique tailored networking to create new business opportunities and help our delegates to take the next step upwards.

Q. What is new for the events in 2011?

Three major changes. Firstly, we will move the city centre based events in Manchester and Liverpool to an evening start time, as this makes city centre parking and getting to the venue easier.

Secondly, we are running two workshops – one on freelancing issues and the other on entrepreneur issues. Delegates will be able to choose which workshop they wish to attend.

Finally, we’ll be including a light buffet supper in the cost of the tickets and this explains why the prices are slightly higher than last year.

Q. How have you picked the venues?

We look for venues which are easy to get to, can accommodate us and are a natural home for entrepreneurs and freelancers. It is extremely valuable for an entrepreneur to be able to meet lots of talented freelancers and know that he or she can hire a room at the same venue in the future. This approach allows the entrepreneur to bring teams of freelancers together for any current or future projects.

Q. Do you engage freelancers?

Of course. These events are built entirely using freelance talent.

Q. When is the next Brookson Enterprise Freelance Fair?

16th February at Innospace business incubator in central Manchester. Tickets are available here
