EFF Manchester venue praised by government minister

Manchester Metropolitan University’s Centre of Enterprise, and the venue for the first Brookson Enterprise Freelance Fair event of 2011 has been praised by a cabinet minister.

As reported by InsidetheM60, Baroness Hanman, parliamentary under-secretary for Communities and Local Government visited the University last week and praised the “excellence” of the university’s enterprise culture.

Hanman was said to have been impressed with the Universities Enterprise Champions scheme, which supports over 1,000 students and alumni to develop their enterprising knowledge and skills in fields like IT, business and design.

The University has championed entrepreneurship among its 35,000 students and emphasised the need for business skills in new graduates.  It runs a scheme called Enterprise Champions, which aims to encourage a new culture of enterprise in higher education. Central to the scheme is Innospace, the University Business School’s graduate business incubator and the venue for our 16th February event.
